Location
Apartments Kakera is located in the village of Turangi 50 meters from Kakera coral reef beach and coastline great for beachcombing, sunbathing, reef exploring, rock pool bathing, boggie boarding, surfing and adventure snorkeling when the ocean permits. The local village of Turangi and its back road offer stunning local scenery including plantations of tropical crops, and the backdrop of rugged mountains and valleys. The walk to our local water catchment and water fall offers lots of beautiful scenery.  Turangi also has several ancient ruins and Marae sites.  Pa’s (Queens) Palace and Kainuki Marae are a short walk from Apartments Kakera. Island tours and activities are easily arranged at our office, most operators and the local bus will pick you up from the apartments gate. A ten minutes drive or leisurely 25 minute push bike ride to the north will take you to the sleepy main township of Avarua, providing sightseeing, the port, shopping, cafes, banks and two major supermarkets.

For those lazy island mornings enjoy breakfast served to you in your apartment, or enjoy a romantic pre packed picnic of your choice on Kakera beach. Select from our In-house menu available in each apartment and our wedding and special occasion menu, includes individual meals for up to 7 people and an Island buffets for up to 30 guests. A complimentary first morning breakfast of Kakera Hot Cakes, fruit, condiments and refreshments will be serviced on request in the comfort of your apartment. For convenience each Kakera apartment offers a self contained kitchen equipped with gas cooker, gas oven (Deluxe Family) refrigerator/ freezer, microwave and all the quality cutlery, crockery, glassware and cookware needed to experiment with new tropical cuisine. BBQ are also available for use.   Two convenience stores and a coffee shop are located within a short walk from Apartments Kakera and Muri shops and restaurants are only 2km away. It’s 7km to the main township of Avarua where you have more restaurants, bars, nightspots, supermarkets, as well as several fresh fruit and vegetable stalls on the roadside and a great market every Saturday morning

Facilities
Our recreational facilities include boogie boards, tennis balls and rackets snokelling gear. The in-apartment facilities include air conditioning -(not available in Karanga) fans, DVD, flat screen TV, USB compatable stereo, games, magazines, gas hob, microwave, hair-dryer, alarm clock/radio, ironing board and iron, mobile phone and wireless internet access, kitchen amenities, bed linen and plush bathroom and beach towels, cotton bath robes. Our group laundry facilities are a washing machine, clothesline and a dryer. Use of dryer is extra @ $10 30mins.

Activities
Close by are many fantastic walking tracks and an ancient Marae and Muri lagoon. Your Onsite Managers can provide a wealth of knowledge on what to see and do. Surfing
Kakera Beach is one of Rarotonga’s favour spots for surfer’s and boogie boarder’s alike. Snokelling over the reef when the tide is right is a breath taking experiance with massive corals and schools of many differant tropical fish to be seen. Kakera Beach is unique and unspoilt it coral reef pool hold an array of sea creatures and fish. You can bath in the safely of the reef pools and watch the wave breaking on the reef. Great to just relax and sit on the beach working on your tan in one of the private sandy coves.
